Idil Bilgin, M.D.
Comprehensive Adult and Pediatric Optometry, Contact Lenses, Vision Therapy and Myopia Control Specialist
Dr. Bilgin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, where she was inducted into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. She completed a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the SUNY College of Optometry and went on to serve on faculty at the SUNY College of Optometry for seven years, followed by approximately two years on the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. Dr. Bilgin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She also held the position as the Clinical Director for the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Vision Screening Program in NYC for 3 years.
Prior to joining NJ Eye and Ear, Dr. Bilgin practiced for nearly 20 years in a prominent Pediatric Ophthalmology practice in New York City. She provides comprehensive examinations to adult and pediatric patients, specialty contact lens fittings, vision therapy and myopia management and prevention. Dr. Bilgin is experienced and comfortable working with patients with special needs and diverse abilities and Dr. Bilgin is fluent in Turkish and is medically proficient in Spanish.
