A message to our patients, friends, and community -
We are writing to provide an update regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). With the current outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our community and beyond, we wanted to let you know how NJ Eye And Ear is preparing and share some important information with you.
Keeping you and our staff safe is a top priority, so we wanted to share the steps we’re taking in response to Coronavirus. With help from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as our own Medical Staff we’re developing preventative measures to maintain a clean, healthy environment.
NJ Eye and Ear will remain open. We are closely monitoring the situation through the New Jersey Department of Health and the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). All of our employees are tested twice a month to ensure a safe office environment.
We are taking additional steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our facilities. Please note that with the ever changing situation these policies will be adjusted and we will notify you when changes are made.
We are asking that if you or your driver have any signs of illness to please stay home. Please call and notify us of the need to reschedule your appointment. This is for the safety of our staff and other patients who are not experiencing symptoms. Additionally, if you have had contact with anyone whom has tested positive for COVID-19 please remain at home. Lastly, if you have traveled internationally within the last two weeks, please call to reschedule your appointment.
If You Are Coming to Us for Care:
To ensure the well-being of our patients, visitors, and team members, we are:
• Screening all patients for symptoms and exposure risks.
• Call ahead if you are experiencing fever and/or symptoms of a respiratory illness. We will advise you on whether you should come in or reschedule your appointment for a later date.
Lastly, we will not be allowing any non-essential people into the clinic. Family members coming with patients will be asked to wait in their cars etc.
We continue to recommend the following everyday habits to help prevent the spread of illness.
• Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick
• Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
• Cover your cough. Cough or sneeze into a Kleenex or elbow. Wash hands immediately.
Thank you for your support and understanding as we work through this health challenge. As new information comes forward we will continue to update you as needed.
